Woah - this is cool. I was wandering around trying to think of something to do in the sun and I walked past the Shrine of St. Fancis, this lovely old church from 1849 (or something), and this very respectable suited guy gives me this flyer for a free concert. I was thinking “ooo, not my style” but as I walked across the road I was thinking “What do I really want right now” and somewhere in my head said “peace.” Wierd, eh? So I went back to the church and said to the guy if I had to leave in the middle would it be disruptive? He said that would be fine, so I went for it.

It was amazing, 25 people singing Latin songs all in different harmonies. I have never heard the human voice sound so powerful. I stayed for the whole 45 minutes. It was one of those occasions where I was so glad I was alone. I am sure anyone else would have got bored and I would have worried about that, but it worked out fine.

After that I went to this cute pizza joint called the Golden Boy that I have been to before. They heat you up slices from $2 to $3 and serve beer on draft. It’s one small room, with a big metal bar, and people all seem to know each other there.

The girl that was working there was a bleached punky chick with an unbelievably barbie voice. She had a stylized “Fuck Star Wars” t-shirt on that she told me a local guy had made for his friends. She’d also cut a single yesterday called “Love in a Goldfish Bowl”.

I have found someone to share my room with me and have saved $28 (more beer money?) so thats great too. I’m off now to pick my undies off the room floor so I don’t scare off my new roommate.
