About
I’ve been blogging since the early days of Blogger. I got a hoodie out of it before Google took over. The blog’s been through various (ugly) versions, way too many WordPress updates, and is now mercifully static.
I’m pretty nerdy. I like computers, making things with code, and fixing things that aren’t supposed to be fixed. I also love animals and combat sports. Combat sports gave me a reason to want to be healthy, and I will forever be grateful.
I like writing, and have written an odd collection of things: personal essays, short stories, a horror film script with a friend, a feature on an up-and-coming young female boxer. However, I don’t write regularly. I keep the blog here for nostalgia, although I’m not sure I’m done writing.
I like to take photos with film cameras. And buy old film cameras. Buying film cameras can become something of an addiction. They are finite and the search for a bargain is often irresistible.
I have a linkblog at neuromantic.org which I use to note interesting stories about science, code or culture.
And finally, I listen to podcasts obsessively. I’ve even hosted one as part of my diverse freelance career. It’s chats with creators called Creator Talks, by Mediaforta.
One of my favourite things about blogging is that sometimes strangers leave me comments. I love that. I will figure out how to do that again in this template.
